Episode 37 – A Calm Before the Storm

Written by Judd Lynn and Jackie Marchand
Directed by Worth Keeter

Summary: Ransik has no more mutants and even the X-Vault is empty. Lucas, Trip and Katie are excited that soon once they finally have Ransik, they will be going home but will miss the year 2001. And Jen will miss…the little things. Dr. Zaskin informs Mr. Collins of a breakthrough in the Zirium Powder research, explaining that its molecular structure can form a crystal (a Trizirium Crystal) and that the energy in one crystal could light up an entire city, if they could combine two-halves (Bizirium Crystals) to be large enough. Mr. Collins wants Dr. Zaskin and his best scientists to combine them.

Eric goes to the Clock Tower and informs Wes and Jen that Bio-Lab is doing some research trying to create a Trizirium Crystal. Trizirium Crystals shouldn’t be made for 100 years. Frax powers up his robot creation Maxax to destroy the city. Wes goes to Bio-Lab to have a talk with his father. Wes explains to Mr. Collins that his friends came here from the future, from the year 3000, and that Ransik escaped through a time portal and their mission is to bring him back. Wes tells him that he needs him to stop researching the Trizirium Crystal as it’s not supposed to be invented for another 100 years.

Maxax begins his attack on the city and citizens. Quantum Ranger intercepts Maxax. Meanwhile, the other Rangers are attacked by Frax. Maxax is weakened but suddenly grows. Quantum Ranger combines his power with Q-Rex and destroys Maxax, and Frax retreats.

Eric returns to the Clock Tower and gives the crystals to Wes and explains that his father’s not going to make the Trizirium Crystal. Trip calls for Wes. Alex contacts the team and informs them that their mission is nearly finished and according to the history banks, they save the future but they don’t survive to make it back. Alex reveals to them a large time vortex in the sky sucking up buildings…
