Episode 27 – Frax’s Fury

Written by Judd Lynn and Jackie Marchand
Directed by Koichi Sakamoto

Summary: Ransik sees the robots, including Frax, as merely slaves to do his bidding, but no matter how loyal they are or how hard they fight for his empire, he still treats them like junk metal. Ransik’s DNA begins mutating again and Frax is ordered to get the serum for him. Frax wants revenge and reanimates the X-Vault mutant Venomark. Venomark storms through the city biting everyone. His venom leaves its victims with a mark on their neck and leaves them helpless and in excruciating pain as they begin to mutate and slowly die. Ransik discovers that the mutant rampaging the city is Venomark. Ransik explains to Nadira that he and Venomark have a long history. Venomark attacked Ransik one night. The pain from his bite was so immense, Ransik couldn’t even cry out for help. As the venom rushed through his veins, his flesh began boiling and mutating. But a Doctor stopped to help him. The Doctor has Ransik drink a vial of serum and has his mechanical friends (Cyclobots) help bring Ransik to his lab. The serum saves Ransik, but Dr. Louis Fericks explains that his DNA is different and he will have to keep taking it or the attacks will finish him. Ransik asks Dr. Fericks why would he, a human, help him, a mutant. Dr. Fericks explains, humans, mutants, robots — they make no difference to him. He just lives there peacefully, building his mechanical friends. But Ransik tells him that robots are a waste of metal and could only be useful as slaves, then takes all the serum and destroys the place with Dr. Fericks still inside. And that was the last he ever saw of Dr. Fericks.

Venomark bites Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow Rangers. Venomark tries to bite Red Ranger too, but Venomark is then attacked by Ransik who shows him no mercy as it is payback time. But as Ransik is about to finish him, Ransik suffers another attack from the venom. Venomark seizes the opportunity to escape. Red Ranger sees Ransik drink the serum and drop the vial. Venomark didn’t know that Ransik was still alive. Frax tells Venomark not to worry and explains he will destroy Ransik.

Back at the Clock Tower with his team resting, Wes learns that the hospitals are full of bitten victims. Circuit discovers that it is a mutant named Venomark from the X-Vault and explains that there’s no data for a cure. Wes goes back to find the broken vial and discovers that there is still some serum left in it. Wes takes the serum to Mr. Collins at Bio-Lab. Bio-Lab has the technology to reproduce it fast enough to save lives. Mr. Collins sees this opportunity as a gold mine. Bio-Lab reproduces the serum, and the Silver Guardians help get the serum to the victims. Wes brings serum to his team and cures them.

Venomark almost bites Eric, but the Rangers arrive. Venomark tries to destroy some of the serum, but Blue Ranger blocks the attack. Venomark is weakened by Quantum Ranger Mega Battle Mode. He makes himself grow then is recaptured by Shadow Force Megazord Mode Red’s Blizzard Slash finisher and the Quantasaurus Rex Megazord’s Max Blizzard finisher.

Back at the cryo-prison, Ransik discovers that someone has destroyed all his vials of serum, and that someone is Frax. Frax still has one vial left and threatens to drop it. So Ransik tells him that they are on the same side and that humans are their enemy. But Frax explains that they’re Ransik’s enemy, not his, and that he was once human when Ransik destroyed him. Frax reveals to Ransik that he is what remains of Dr. Fericks. Ransik thought he had destroyed Dr. Fericks when he destroyed his laboratory but Dr. Fericks survived and was injured beyond hope, barely alive. With his life fading fast, there was only one way he knew to survive. He wouldn’t have made it had he remained in his human form, so he rebuilt himself using the technology he had pioneered. He transformed himself into a robot and made a vow to one day get revenge. He showed Ransik kindness, and Ransik showed him hatred. Frax drops the vial and escapes…
